Dry Needling

Dry needling is a special technique used to reduce pain by releasing tight muscles. Our podiatrists use dry needling to treat many conditions including shin pain, calf pain and heel pain.

Laser Orthotics

We prescribe and fit orthoses using a 3D computerised laser scanner. Laser scan orthoses are specifically designed to mould to the individual contours of your foot and restore your alignment.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) involves applying high-energy acoustic waves to specific areas of the body to stimulate the healing process. Regularly used to treat heel pain (Plantar Fasciitis), shin pain, Achilles tendonitis and a range of other muscular injuries.

Foot & Nail Care

We provide gentle removal of callouses and corns and special care for difficult to manage toenails.

Nail Bracing

We attach corrective nail braces to the nail or fastened below the nail rim for ingrown and involuted nails. The brace slightly lifts the nail rim, alleviating pressure on the surrounding tissue.

Nail Surgery (Ingrown Toenails & Nail Removal)

We carefully conduct nail surgery to remove the part of the impinging nail. If the problem continues to re-occur and cause pain, a permanent nail removal procedure can be performed to prevent re-growth of the painful nail.

Foot Manipulation/Mobilisation

Long-term solutions for improving the function and flexibility of your joints for more efficient muscle movement. We regularly incorporate this type of treatment for biomechanical malalignment, as we believe a permanent resolution to an injury or condition is much better than a short-term quick fix.

Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy to relax and release muscle shortness and tightness. We will organise a treatment plan consisting of 30–50 minute sessions. Gentle pressure is applied to the area to help release tension.

Childrens Services

Childrens feet are unique. They’re softer and more flexible than most adult feet. Children’s feet grow very fast and at different rates. A child aged two is growing twice as fast as a child aged seven. Most children will be old enough to
drive before their feet finish growing.

Untreated foot problems can cause long-term health problems in the feet and
the rest of the body. It takes skill and experience to properly assess and treat children’s feet to ensure healthy walking
development.

Diabetes Foot Assessment

With regular foot reviews, footwear inspections and education, many common foot problems associated with diabetes can be prevented. We provide thorough assessment of the blood and nerve supply to the feet and legs in people with diabetes. If you have diabetes you should see a podiatrist annually.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy (similar to dry ice treatment) is a safe, effective and quick treatment for plantar warts.

Doppler Ultrasound

Used to assess the blood flow in the feet and toes. This is important for people with diabetes or circulation problems.

LASER THERAPY FOR FUNGAL NAILS

Fungal nail infections are common, affecting approximately 10% of the population. Fortunately, treatment of fungal nails is now much easier & more successful with the introduction of pain-free laser treatment. Topical treatments alone just don’t work ( < 10% success rate) and oral medications have serious side effects.

Each treatment lasts 12 minutes, and all nails are treated at the same time. The number of treatments depends on the severity of the infection. You will start to see results in 6 weeks as the nail grows out. Your podiatrist will provide you with information and secondary treatments to make sure your nails stay healthy and prevent re-infection.

How do I make an appointment to see a Podiatrist under Workcover?

You will need a referral from your GP/Doctor/Specialist or work cover insurer to see a podiatrist for a work cover consultation. Prior to your first consultation, please provide details of your insurers, case manager and claim number to our administration staff so we can obtain all relevant documentation pertaining to your case history.
